PlanetRead pioneered the concept of “Same-Language Subtitling” (SLS) for mass literacy, by suggesting its implementation on the immensely popular Bollywood film songs on TV in India. Since 1996, SLS has been integrated into several song-based TV programs on Doordarshan, The lyrics have been rewritten by native language experts exclusively for our SLS work thus giving you error-free lyrics. You can download these lyrics, which are available as PDF files.
Currently songs’ lyrics are available in Hindi and Tamil. Other Indian languages in the pipeline are Gujarati, Bengali, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Oriya, Punjabi and Marathi.

Transliteration is a systematic way of converting characters/words in one language into another language based on the pronunciation of the original language.
For example: Hindi words are written using the English script, which is what DesiLassi is doing.
